Ahhh ahhh! today's the Doctor Who season finale! Is the day the fandom explodes. I am afeared. Why isn't it now time?

I don't know if I want to spoil myself or not for it.

*is afeared*

yeah, this has no content =P

I think I'm winning against the sick! I've jsut been sleeping for like... 12 hours a day, and making myself have 2 real meals (co-inciding with the post wedding ARG-I-have-no-money which means no more conveniance foods untill I've made up that budget shortfall).

I still haven't defeated it, but I haven't managed a full out of comision sick-sick yet, just kind of a constant state of kinda-sick.

Of course tonight might not have helped, with the work crew and the first 'yes really we have a social life, honest, truely' event. But the drinks all had fruit juice in them. That counts for good right?

Gah! *rips out throat*

Stupid sick. Fell aslep after work, woke up hurting to swallow. Attempting to kill it with orange juice, chicken noodle soup heavy on the veggies.

Tonight it'll be hot water with tea and honey and another early bedtime. I really can't do throat-sick. Throat-sick doesn't work overly well when job is entirely talking to people >_<

edit: Okay, 12 million bees have accidentially released in small town NB. That is entertaining ^_^

So, I have returned from a lovely wedding, and quite a nice mini-vacation for me in Moncton, would have been nicer if the weather was not rainy and ick, but it worked =P

Weekend in Point Form:

-Geeky weddings are Win (Bride and Groom entered reception to Doctor Who Theme. First Danced to Geeks in Love. Bride and father dance was to the Ewok celebration song.
-The only version of the Macarena that my DJ will have will be the loslos version.
-Time Warp -> Doctor Who ->Frankenfurter and Jack
-Cabs are expensive
-Latest Who preview is full of *cuddles Jack*
-Dress did not dissolve or fall off. Is also very comfortable. V2 will have elastic somewhere in the straps so they will stay up better.
-Room service breakfast in bed is worth the %18 required gratuity
-Somehow managed to not sleep as much as I should have. Unintentionally fell asleep on the train home so my neck and torso are a little angry. Bath then bed time.
-It Can be Who Tiem Now?

So, when did it become Wednesday? Ahhh!! Gotta pack! also Gotta clean! They're showing my apartment when I'm gone.

Also, as a (paranoid) note to self: tingling started at 4:30. If this doesn't stop I'm going to cry.

Edit: bugger it all. Tingly patch is numb-ish. Can't remember if that's been like that since last time and I'm just paying to much attention to it now. *shakes fist at body* All I can do is keep eye out. If I 'break out' in Moncton, I'll know what's up.

*flails unproductively*

So, gave up on dress #1, as I realized what was twigging me as off about it; it's a fall dress in feel/look. Kept trying it on going 'everything's working but it's just not right" that'd be why.

So I'm redesigning the top to a dress I had a couple years back. Empire waisted, and I really liked everything from the bustline down. Not such a big fan of what I had done with the top. So, using just the fabric that I had in the wrap top and a spool of ribbon (aka, things I have on hand)I'm switching it.

Turned the top into a tube top, but with decorative lacing in the in the back 4 inches (band of fabric isn't enough to go all the way around. Dip is to severe to gracefuly lead the neckline to the existing back. Ribbon also covers the slight bit of bra that the back is slightly too low to cover)

NOw to blend that all in, black ribbon is going run over and under the bustline (likely) with and straps (also ribbon) will extend all the way down the sides of the back lacing area. HOwever I have also managed to run out of black thread (horrors!) so all the ribbon is going to have to be sewn on by hand in the dark dark navy that I thought was my black.

Whee ^_^

Here's hoping it all works out =P

edit: Ahhh sewing, the reason why I may lose flexability in my legs due to not stretchingm but will never lose it in my shoulders/arms. Nothing like playing the "okay, if I just make my shoulders the the size of my waist I should be able to get this off with these pins in it" game =P

So, last night I couldn't sleep, so I put on Blood of the Daleks because Paul McGann has a rather nice voice. Listening to it, I learned that the Daleks are kinda mildly frightening in audio format. Especially when they are going "We will help you evacuate your planet. We Daleks understand what it is to be persecuted. Just load your population onto our ships." Because Daleks are not fluffy caring helpful creatures.

So that ended on a cliffhanger and didn't help sleepyness at all. So I turn on the radio. And listen to a dramatic re-telling of the Three Mile Island accident.

THen I drift to sleep. A storm comes through in the night. In the early morning, there is a huge clap of thunder, which knocks out the power, just for a second, but enough that it resets my microwave, which beeps alarmingly when the power comes back to it.

So I fell asleep listening to a nuclear meltdown, I wake up to hear a loud explosion, then an electronic alarm screaming for attention.

And that was 1.5 hours before I had to be awake.
It was not a relaxing way to start the day.

Which then continued as the previous post. Now I've calmed down a bit through my favourite method for inducing giggles: Watching vids involving John Barrowman on youtube.

Watched Hot Fuzz tonight. It was a good time. It is great crack. I actualy spent very little time doing other things, waiting for the movie to get interesting again. Simon Pegg does an amazingly good job. So does everyone really.

It might actually be worth puirchasing, sometime.

(Also, Sgt. Angel kept reminding me of PC Andy.)

Owwwww..... *curls up into a ball and dies*

But I was still semi-productive today. My hair is now shorter (not by much. SHe kinda just refreshed the existing cut). When do a different place than usual, so I'm going to wait untill I've washed it before I say whether it's snazzy or merely good.

Wedding gifts have also been purchased. But I failed at laundry.

Tonight will be chicken pesto sandwiches for supper. With 1/4lb fudge for dessert.

(I live such an interesting life =P )

Dead today.

Tired all day. Got home feeling reasonably fine, though quiet night was definately on the cards. Went to the grocery story thinking of picking up some chicken to make Real Food that doesn't involve a microwave. Body decided that this whole being awake thing was full of fail. I yawned all the way round the grocery store.

So I had a penutbutter honey sandwich, a glass of orange juice and am going to bed. Jes, I will send you ficness when I can focus on the screen (this has taken me pathetically long to type)

Tomorrow will be spent on dishes. And some shopping. I has wedding gifts to find ^_^

Oh, and because this is to shiny not to share, despite finger/brain issue today. Watched commentary for Die Hard 4. Director is a big fan of practical shots, rather than CG. The killing a helicoptor with a car? Practical shot. They had a car launcher.

Strange CBC thoughts.

I don't like Vinyl Tap on CBC becuse Randy Bachman irritates me. I always thought it was becuse he's got his guitar int he studio and keeps fiddling with it while he's talking. Strumming, picking out bits of melody, demonstrating whatever musical concept/style he's currently talking about.

Yet I throughly enjoy this program that I have heard a couple of times now but have yet to catch the title/host for (11pm sunday nights, Atlantic time zone. CBC website is being slow). He does the same thing, except it's a piano.

I suspect it's the difference in tone.
(I'm also beginning to suspect it might be Vinyl Tap's sumer replacement?)

Either way it has lead me to conclude that Randy Bachman's personality just bugs me.

This is how the Universe Ends

Torchwood fic.
Characters: Jack Harkness, DEATH (Discworld), The Universe

It starts out as Crack (Jack's holding up the End of the Universe, as he can't die). Continues as Crack (one way to die is to challenge DEATH to a game and lose). And then ends as something mildly profound (Jack figures out what's holding him back).

I got the link from here, which demonstrates quite nicely how wonderful Torchwood fandom can be.

It is -almost- warm enough for tank tops and shorts. Almost. But not quite. I also suspect that at this time of year my body, in fear of becoming Hot (I really really hate being hot), decides to give up on producing heat, so until it warms up about 4 degrees, I am mildly chilled.

Which is kind of annoying because I'm to the detaily type fitting parts of the dress for Margaret's wedding and one of the benifits of living my yourself at this point in sewing is that you shouldn't have to undress, try on outfit, redress. Sew some. Undress, try on adjustments, redress. You can just put on outfit, remove, sew.

Except for the bit where I'm cold!

*pouts*

So tonights supper is potatoes cheese and egg. Nice and hot.
*cuddles into hoodie*

(*nudges downlad* I can haz Who nao?)

Dear Self:

What's the worst thing that can happen?

Exactly. Try to remember that one.

Same with "Why do you care what other people think?" and "Everyone's entitled to their own dumb opinion" which aren't quite so imediately relevant, but are likely to come in handy.

Gyeah!

Worst feeling/sound ever; getting a need in the roof of your mouth. It sounds like puncing a small hole in a tight plastic bag.
One more quarter to go. At least these ones aren't as achey.

Celebrating summer tomorrow by finally claiming a facial I had a certificate for %50 off of, and maybe buying a few more summer clothing items. And attempting to go to the mall without buying more stuff from LUSH.

Today will be spent in the beautiful sun! And as I read all your Ontarioians complain about the weather I am reminded, yet again, as to why I love Halifax (rarely that muggy, pretty much always a breeze).

Doctor Who latest episodes are full of WIN. Really. I think they're best episodes of New Who. It managed to utterly break me. And then fix it, and make me flail in glee.

When you run with the Doctor it feels like it'll never end, but however hard you try you can't run forever. Everybody knows that everybody dies and nobody knows it like the Doctor. But I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark if he ever, for one moment, accepts it.

Today was sooo boring. Like, I had 4 checkins left at 7pm, and didn't check anyone else in for the rest of my shift.

I did have the bestest burger ever, from a new place down the street. Where they cooked the burger from a handmade patty right in front of me, fried the fries from fresh cut potatoes right there, used lovely fresh veggies... $9.00 for an absolutely delisious supper.

Starting to get the tourists now, which is good, because a lot of them are just fun. But that also means a higher population of cranky-pantsed people.

Tomorrow night should at least be busier...

Today was a day of 1000 little annoyances. Nothing major, really, but the phones kept ringing, the checkins all demanded attention, not "here's your keys, go away." Plus they were nice so I wanted to give them the attention, and answer their questions, but I barely got two sentences out before a phone rang, so I was scatter brained all day, and it was just intensely frustrating.

Though I suppose I should be glad I wasn't working in the morning when an electrical issue had them evacuate the hotel*, but it's definately a quiet bath evening =P

*(most entertaining aspect of that story. While the building was in full bells (full out 'evacuate the building' alarms), the phone rings. The gentlement on the other end was like "Hi, I'm ____ I'm with the volunteer fire department, I was wondering who I should talk to about support for a fundraiser? *pauses, hears the background noise* How 'bout I just call back in a few hours *hangs up*")

First, this version of this song (Sendspace link. Feeling Good - John Barrowman) pushes all my buttons. I don't know why, but I love it, it is just.... sexy, smooth, oozing. It is a slow stalk across a room when you know you're the hottest thing there.

It also creates an entertaining game of associations.

At the minute mark, when the intro ends, there's this note, it appears throughout, but I notice it most there. This note is the same sound my phone makes when it vibrates. Which then immediately leads my brain to "My phone's on vibrate for you". WHich puts John Barrowman and Rufus Wainwright in by head at the same time.

This song, not this version, but the song, comes up at work semi-frequently on the canned music station that we have. Every single time I hear it, it makes me grin. Which is a pretty good state to be in, at work.

Dear McCalls:

I can understand an "unlined" jacket with interfacing (though I don't know where mine is, annoyingly), but I feel that having full interfacing on the front pannels seems a little excessive. However the real issue is the bit where this "unlined" jacket aparently involves cutting lining. Just because you're lining it with the same fabric doesn't mean it's unlined.

*is perturbed*

Edit: Ha! Found interfacing!

Yesterday Blockbuster was having pre-viewed buy 2 get one free. So I now have Die Hard, Hairspray and Pirates 3 for just under $20. Tonight will be a sewing and movie watching day.
